Building Recovery Together

Program Overview

The HOLMAN Recovery Scholarship is designed to help you succeed in your transition from treatment to independent living. During your 90 day scholarship period, you'll work with our program manager to complete Phase 1 requirements and develop a clear plan for transitioning to self pay.

What We Provide

  • The Recovery and Employment Journey Framework, a comprehensive workforce readiness program that helps you develop the skills needed to find and maintain employment or pursue education
  • Structured support and accountability to help you stay on track
  • Connection to community resources and employment and education partners

What Success Requires

  • Your active engagement in Phase 1 programming
  • Commitment to developing and executing your transition plan
  • Taking ownership of your recovery journey

Success comes from actively using the tools and support we provide.

Program Structure and Self Accountability

Our program is built on a foundation of structure and accountability that empowers you to take ownership of your recovery journey. All residents, including scholarship recipients, are expected to follow house rules and curfew requirements.

Clock In and Clock Out System

Our clock in and clock out system is designed to empower you to be accountable to yourself. Rather than staff trying to catch people breaking curfew, this system creates a healthy atmosphere of self accountability where you demonstrate your commitment to following house curfew rules.

When you clock in and clock out, you're showing yourself and the community that you're taking responsibility for your recovery and respecting the structure that supports your success. This isn't about surveillance. It's about building the self accountability skills that will serve you long after you leave the program.

This structure, combined with your active engagement, creates an environment where everyone can focus on recovery and growth rather than enforcement. You have the power to demonstrate your commitment through your actions, and the clock in/out system gives you a clear way to show that commitment.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the HOLMAN Recovery Scholarship, you must meet these requirements

  • Have successfully completed a treatment program (residential, intensive outpatient, or equivalent)
  • Be ready to fully engage in Phase 1 programming and take ownership of your transition plan
  • Have a plan (or be willing to develop one) to transition to self pay ($800/month) by day 91
  • Commit to the full 12 month program (3 months scholarship + 9 months self pay)

Not sure where to start? That's okay. We provide the structure and resources. Your commitment to engaging fully makes the difference.

Commitment to the process is essential. If you cannot transition to self pay by day 91, you will be asked to self exit the program.

This deadline ensures fairness to all residents and helps you stay focused on your goals. Use the 90 days wisely. Engage fully in Phase 1, complete the workforce readiness course, and take ownership of your transition plan.

A 12 Month Commitment to Your Success

When you accept the scholarship, you're committing to a 12 month partnership:

Months 1 - 3: Scholarship Period

Fully funded housing while you complete Phase 1 and develop your transition plan

Months 4 - 12: Self Pay Period

Continue building on the foundation you've established with ongoing support

This extended commitment gives you time to build stability, complete Phase 1, transition to Phase 2, and establish long term recovery. We provide the structure and support. Active participation throughout the entire program is essential for success.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I'm not sure which pathway is right for me?

That's completely normal. During the scholarship period, you'll work through The Recovery and Employment Journey Framework course, which helps you assess your situation, explore your options, and develop the skills and confidence to pursue employment or education.

What if I'm struggling to find a job or get into school?

The Phase 1 workforce readiness course provides practical tools and strategies for job searching, resume writing, interview preparation, school applications, and financial aid. We also connect you with our employment and education partners.

What happens if I can't transition to self pay by day 91?

If you cannot demonstrate your ability to pay $800/month by day 91, you will be asked to self exit the program. This deadline helps you stay focused and ensures fairness to all residents.

What is The Recovery and Employment Journey Framework?

It's a comprehensive workforce readiness program that's part of Phase 1. It includes 30 educational videos across six chapters covering job searching, resume writing, interview skills, and career development, plus a 114 page workbook with practical assignments, and individual coaching with Ty Reed, founder of Recovery Career Services.

Can I use a combination of employment, education, and family support?

Yes. As long as you can demonstrate the ability to pay $800/month total, you can combine sources. For example, a part time job ($400/month) plus family support ($400/month) would qualify.

What if I lose my job or drop out of school after transitioning?

You must maintain your ability to pay $800/month throughout the 12 month commitment. If your situation changes, you must find alternative funding (employment, education, or family/friend support) or you may be asked to self exit. We encourage you to have backup plans.

Can I still be asked to leave during the scholarship period?

Yes. The scholarship covers housing costs, but all program requirements still apply. Violations of house rules, substance use, or other program violations can result in immediate termination regardless of scholarship status.

Ready to Apply?

If you've completed treatment and are ready to take the next step, our scholarship program can help you build the foundation for long term success.
